Christmas in Paipa, Colombia

Who would of thought that our family would be spending Christmas in South America. This trip has brought us many unexpected surprises! This fall I found out one of my mom's closest friends, Bertha, was diagnosed with cancer. One of Bertha's daughters, Jessica (and her husband David) has been caring for her the last three months. Jessica asked if we could spend Christmas with them...and so we packed up the boys stockings and our gifts and headed out to Paipa (a three and half hour bus ride). We had a wonderful Christmas! Some friendships truly are forever...it had been about 12 years since I had seen Jessica.

Oh yes...we also brought along our friends Crystal & Juan (teen orphans who attend our church)...we love them!
